Together with ArkDes and KTH we are excited to invite you to a special event at Bio Skandia as we honor one of Sweden’s most renowned architects, Gunnar Asplund. Known for his masterful creations, Asplund designed some of Sweden's most iconic buildings, including our beloved Bio Skandia, the Stockholm Public Library, and Skogskyrkogården—a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The event will offer a unique opportunity to explore his legacy and learn more about his profound influence on modern design and architecture.
Join us for a day of architecture appreciation, learning, and celebration! The program includes:
- Guided Tour of Bio Skandia led by Marcelo Rovira Torres, lecturer in architecture at Architecture School, KTH.
- Lecture by Frida Rosenberg from ArkDes, curator of 20th-century architecture at ArkDes.
- Lecture by Anders Bergström, associate professor in Architecture History School of Architecture, KTH, who will share insights into Asplund’s architectural legacy.
- Lecture by Leif Handberg, Lecturer at KTH and chairman of the Skandiaorgeln föreningen.
We'll also be offering complimentary coffee and fika throughout the day!
